Channing.Sparks

Channing Sparks is an accomplished student, dancer, and public relations professional with a passion for media and entertainment. She honed her performance skills from ages 8 to 14 with the Children’s Theatre of Elgin and Fox Valley Theater Company, later continuing her dance training at Elite Academy of Dance in South Elgin, IL, where she competed at regional and national levels.

Growing up in a predominantly Caucasian environment, Channing drew inspiration from her experiences to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices. From this, Channing wrote a children’s book entitled The First Runner Up, that reflects her journey and amplifies the stories of marginalized groups, marking her first step toward a larger platform for advocacy.

Channing holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media: Media Management, Promotions, and Sales, with a minor in Dance Performance from Illinois State University, as well as, a master’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising at the University of Southern California on the Annenberg Dean’s Scholarship, where she served as a Graduate Research Associate for the Annenberg School’s Center for Public Relations.

Additionally, Channing dedicates time to enhancing her dance technique and learning from industry professionals at numerous studios across the Los Angeles County. Her future aspirations include establishing a premier dance studio in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
